RESPONSE OF IRAN AND IRANIAN ARMENIANS TO 2018 SPRING EVENTS IN ARMENIA

Iran, as a neighboring country of Armenia that has some tensions with the West, had some cautious attitude towards the developments in Armenia that is Velvet revolution and the change of power. Nevertheless, after some direct contacts and after several interviews of high-level Armenian officials, it is obvious that the caution has been lessened. The Iranian Armenian community that is one of the oldest Armenian communities in the world and the only one whose everyday language is Eastern Armenian, has a very strong ties with Republic of Armenia and developments of 2018 have its implications on the attitudes of Iranian Armenians towards the Armenian Government.
