Եվրոպայում «Մուսուլման եղբայրների» առաջին խմբերը սկսեցին հաստատվել 20-րդ դարի երկրորդ կեսին, ինչը ժամանակագրական առումով համընկնում է մուսուլմանների՝ դեպի Եվրոպա արտագաղթի առաջին մեծ ալիքի հետ: Դրա արդյունքում իսլամի ողջ պատմության ընթացքում առաջին անգամ զգալի թվով մուսուլմաններ ստիպված էին ապրել ոչ իսլամական հասարակություններում: Սա մի շարք հարցադրումներ առաջացրեց, որոնք առնչվում էին ամենատարբեր խնդիրների՝ սկսած Եվրոպայում մուսուլմանների բնակվելու թույլտատրելիության հարցից մինչև կենցաղային սովորական խնդիրներ: Հոդվածի նպատակն է ցույց տալ, թե «Մուսուլման եղբայրները» ինչպիսի մեխանիզմներ է կիրառում Եվրոպայում մուսուլմանների կեցությունը հիմնավորելու և վերոնշյալ հարցադրումներին պատասխաններ գտնելու համար, և թե ինչպես է ադապտացվում նրա գաղափարախոսությունը ստեղծված նոր իրադրությունների պայմաններում:
